Orlando Gay Chorus Thumb

April 8th, 2017

8:00 PM

Join the Orlando Gay Chorus at Surfside Playhouse to hear songs from our ensembles, from our upcoming Spring Concert – Happy Gays Are Here Again – and a few bonus beach-y songs to get you in the mood for sun and surf!

The Orlando Gay Chorus (OGC) is one of the largest mixed gay choirs in the country. Founded on Valentine’s Day in 1990, OGC has been a fixture in the Central Florida area for over 25 years. In addition to the full chorus, OGC has four small ensembles that perform at the annual concerts and cabarets, as well as at community and private events: OUTLOUD!, the oldest running ensemble; Nothin’ But Treble, the all-female ensemble; Menage, the jazz ensemble; and Spectrum, the mixed ensemble.
The Orlando Gay Chorus is comprised of individuals from all walks of life, all ages, and all orientations: gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender volunteers – as well as many straight allies – comprise the chorus and the behind-the-scenes support staff. OGC warmly welcomes all who would like to join them in their goal of changing hearts and minds in Central Florida and throughout the world.

THE RITZ, by Terrence McNally

FARCE -- Auditions:  March 5 - 6, 2017

Published by Samuel French

When Gaetano Proclo, a hapless, middle-aged, overweight, very married man takes it on the lam from his mafioso brother-in-law, Carmine Vespucci, he ducks into "The Ritz," the last place anyone would look for him... unaware that it is a clandestine gay bathhouse! What he encounters there sets the scene for a hilarious, old-fashioned door- slamming farce, albeit with towel-clad chubby chasers, bumbling detectives, and Googie Gomez, an over-the-top would be Bette Midler looking for her big break...
